We were just as surprised and disappointed as Colton’s fans to read about his decision to leave the show.We want him to return for a third season, as he has for the past two, but if this is his decision we respect that and will wish him all the best. We are excited for what Jeff Davis and producers have in store for our incredible cast in the upcoming third season.

AU: The Proposal
Derek Hale is the executive editor in chief of a book publishing company in New York. His subordinates dislike him because he is pushy and cold. After learning he is about to be deported because of an expired visa, he persuades his spazzy assistant, ‘Stiles’ Stilinski, to marry him so he can stay in the country. At first, Stiles rejects Derek’s offer. But when Derek promises to get the manuscript Stiles has been working on published in return, he can’t help but agree to his boss’ request.
They visit Immigration where an officer, Erica Reyes, informs them that she suspects they are committing fraud to avoid Derek’s deportation. Erica tells them that if she discovers the marriage is a fake, Derek will be deported and Stiles will be convicted of a felony punishable by five years in prison.
The pair travels to Beacon Hills, California, Stiles’ home town, to meet his family and friends. Derek meets Stiles’ best friend Scott and Scott’s girlfriend Allison. During a welcome home party, Stiles confronts his father, Sheriff John Stilinski, who is angry about Stiles dating the boss he has so long disliked and thinks he is using Derek to get ahead in his career. After their argument, Stiles announces the engagement to everyone. Derek also meets Lydia Martin, Stiles’ ex-girlfriend.
The next day, Allison and Lydia take Derek to a local bar to watch a strip dance by a locally famous exotic dancer, Jackson Whittemore. Stepping away from the show, Derek learns from Lydia that Stiles wanted to become an author and make his own life and that Stiles had proposed to Lydia. However, Lydia refused because she didn’t want to leave Beacon Hills for New York. Back at the Stilinski house, Derek learns of the tension between Stiles and John. That night, Derek asks Stiles about his relationship with his father, but Stiles refuses to talk. In response, Derek begins to share personal information about himself with Stiles.
The next day, the family convinces them to marry while they’re in Beacon Hills. After Derek sees how close Stiles’ family and friends are, he tells him he has been alone since he was sixteen years old after his parents died and had forgotten what it felt like to have a family. Derek begins to realize he truly has feelings for Stiles. He decides he doesn’t want to use Stiles or his family and friends anymore.
At the wedding, Derek confesses the sham marriage to the entire assemblage, including Erica, who informs him he has twenty four hours to leave before being deported. Derek returns to the Stilinski home to pack his things. Stiles rushes to their room only to find Derek has already left, leaving his book manuscript with a note of praise and a promise to publish it. Lydia attempts to comfort Stiles but he only wants to find Derek. This leads to another argument between him and John. Scott fakes an asthma attack and convinces them to reconcile. Stiles’ father realizes Stiles really loves Derek. Finally accepting this, he tells Stiles to go after him. Stiles goes to New York and tells Derek he loves him in front of the entire office staff. They decide to get engaged again, and do it for real this time.

- Interviewer: One of the more interesting subsets of Teen Wolf fandom are those passionate about "Sterek", the pairing of Stiles and the stoic werewolf Derek as a romantic couple. Do you have any comment on the Sterek issue? What do you think fans who are into Sterek are reacting to?
- Dylan: I think fans are reacting to something that humans naturally react to, which is good chemistry between characters you wouldn't expect to be seen together. Stiles and Derek couldn't be more opposite as people or personalities. On the one hand, you have the most eccentric, animated, irritating and spastic character in the show. And then on the other hand, you have the very serious, very "has everything on the line" kind of a dark character. When you put those two together, that's just comedy 101, so it creates a funny and fun dynamic.
If I want the curly fries I will have the curly fries.
